Zahra Modern Art Foundries is one of the very few foundries offering a sand casting facility in house. We can handle the production of large castings in a purpose built area. The new 10 tonne crane allows for movement of the largest moulds and we can cast up to a tonne and a quarter from a single pour. Our experienced team have created some truly magnificent works, ranging from full size boats, life size horses, to letter plaques. Many of these works are best cast in sand, which gives greater dimensional stability and less shrinkage in the metal. By using sand pieces, we can make moulds that cater for deep undercuts if necessary. Return to Capabilities & Processes main page. |
